I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#20502) in Cranbrook, British Columbia and hold a Masters degree in Applied Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
My practice is person-centered, with a focus on building supportive relationships with my clients. I work closely with clients to create goals and strategies that can help produce change in their lives. I have found that creating a safe space, where collaboration, openness, mutual trust, and self-awareness can flourish, leads to the empowerment of my clients. I truly enjoy getting to know my clients and working together with them to facilitate lasting change in their lives.
I use a blend of therapeutic approaches, such as: Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Strength-Based, Mindfulness, and Positive Psychology to help my clients achieve their goals. I am interested in the body and mind connection, and its relationship with mental health. Committed to research based approaches, I continue to learn and grow my practice whenever I can. Because everyone is unique, I believe that therapy should be individualized in order to create the best possible experience and outcomes.
Although my clients are youth and adults alike, I have worked extensively as a counsellor for youth (ages 15 and up) in the British Columbia school system. Here I gained a particular expertise in working with young people to overcome challenges and improve their mental wellbeing. In this, my expertise includes: trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, interpersonal problems, anger, grief/loss, career and life planning, stress, self-confidence, motivation, navigating change, and more. I look forward to continue providing online youth counselling services for youth in BC.
My approach to counselling is holistic and client-centered. I believe in the importance of creating a safe and comfortable space for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, and work collaboratively with them to identify and address the root causes of their challenges.
